Photo Journal: The South of France

Photo Journal: The South of France

What a dream it was to be weekending in the South of France. Three days of rosé drinking, shopping and exploring beachfront cities was the perfect break from our busy schedules back in London. Instead of a longform blog post, I decided to do a photo journal to document my time in Nice and Monte Carlo. If you are looking for more specifics on what to do/places to go, you can view my Instagram Story for highlights from my weekend.

Weekending in the City of Love

Weekending in the City of Love

From standing under the sparkling Eiffel Tower at midnight to devouring delicious macaroons at Ladurée, this past weekend in Paris was a dream. The city was everything I thought it would be and more.

Friday

We were off to an early start Friday morning with a 9:31 departure time at London St. Pancras International Train Station. We took the Eurostar from London to Paris. The train was extremely nice which made for a fun and easy morning of travel. Arriving in France was definitely a culture shock. Figuring out which train line to take to our hostel and dealing with weekend transportation passes was not the ideal way to start off our trip, but we figured it out and were on our way.

We stayed at Les Piaules – Nation. The hostel had gorgeous views of the Eiffel Tower and even Disney Paris in the distance. We paid for a 4-bed single to ensure that we wouldn’t have to stay with random people, which worked out perfectly. We had double doors that opened to a roundabout view and comfortable bunks with privacy curtains. The only downfall was the location. We were too far out to walk to the touristy spots, but there was a Metro station right outside the front door that took us wherever we needed to go. I would give the hostel a 10/10 and recommend it to anyone that is looking for an affordable stay!

Excited to explore the city and starved from our morning travels, we walked around our area and found a corner restaurant for a late lunch. We ate at Le Terminus Nation. The service was excellent and the food was amazing. The four of us shared a bottle of wine and attempted to soak in the reality that we were in Paris.

Our hostel gave us a recommendation for a sunset view of the city, so we walked to Belvédère de Belleville after eating to catch the 6pm sunset. Walking up to the lookout point was my first view of the Eiffel Tower. I was in awe of its size and structure. The pink and purple skies settling over the tower was the perfect way to kick off our first night in Paris. Across the street was Le hangar à bateaux, a bar that we grabbed a drink at to wait for dusk to set. At the top of the first hour of darkness, we watched the Eiffel Tower sparkle for our first time.

After admiring the views, we hopped on a bus back to our hostel. Public transportation is Paris is not nearly as organized as it is London. It’s quite overwhelming to be honest. After standing at armpit level, smushed between bodies, we got off and were back at our hostel after what felt like hours of travel.

The sixth floor of the hostel was a rooftop restaurant/bar with stunning views of the city at night. We drank wine, ate pizza and reminisced on our time aboard thus far. We had so much fun this night, but headed to bed at a decent hour to make sure we were able to get a head start on our first full day in Paris the next morning.

Saturday

Saturday was a dream; it was my favorite day by far.

We started off the morning with on-the-go croissants from a cute street café next to our hostel. We spent the next two hours walking around the Eiffel Tower, taking pictures and admiring the park that surrounded it. Already hungry, we grabbed crepe sandwiches from a street vendor. I ate an unreal ham and cheese crepe. C’était délicieux.

Next Stop: Arc de Triomphe. The Monument was gorgeous with intricate detailing that blew me away. The arc opened up to the Champs-Élysées, the 5th Avenue of Paris. The stores on the Champs-Élysées were stunning. We wet into the Christian Dior store and walked around all three stories, window shopping like we owned the place. The collections were elegant and the prints vibrant.

Just a few blocks down was Ladurée, an upscale French bakery with world-known macaroons. The restaurant/bakery was brilliant. Sculpted gold trim and royal green walls with stunning gold accents. The macaroons didn’t disappoint – the best macaroons I’ve ever had. Smooth, rich tastes with delicate flavors.

We later explored the Louvre. The area was crowded, so we didn’t stay long, but I did manage to touch the top of the pyramid. What can I say, I’m a tourist.

From the Louvre, we walked to Café de Flore, a charming, well-known French café. By well known I mean a lot of famous people go there and it was featured in Gossip Girl… On the way to the café we walked through quaint streets filled with cafés and thrift shops. I loved this area.

Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris was up next. It was sad to see the construction and ruin from the fire, but the front stood tall with gorgeous architecture. Right around the corner was Le Flore en l’ÃŽle, a French eatery with killer gelato. I stuck with my go-to, chocolate, and it did not disappoint.

With rain starting soon, we stopped in Little Café for a quick drink around the corner. We only stayed for one drink before heading back towards our hostel for dinner. We ate at La Mère Pouchet. I wasn’t starved, so I ordered French onion soup. To be honest, I don’t really like French onion soup, but when in France!

There was only one way to end our first full day in Paris… to stand under the sparking Eiffel Tower at Midnight. This was a highlight of my trip. I facetimed some loved ones to share my experience and stared in awe at the fact that this is my life right now. A memory I will never forget.

Sunday

We started Sunday with street side brunch in Montmartre at Le Studio Café. Our table had the perfect view of Sacré-Cœur, which we later explored. The views from Sacré-Cœur were unreal. The area around it was neat as well. Not too far away was Place du Tertre, which is famously known for artists such as Van Gogh and Picasso painting there in their early days. An incredible area to walk around in.

From Montmartre, we headed to Musée Yves Saint Laurent. The YSL exhibit was another highlight of my trip. The exhibit featured original sketches from Yves Saint Laurent as well as his sketch collection from his farewell show. His sketches had movement, he was the epitome of a couture designer. I left with a new appreciation for the YSL fashion house.

We spent the remainder of our Sunday walking around, exploring the different streets and cafés Paris had to offer. Each turn offered something new, it’s a gorgeous city.

To end our last night in Paris on a high note, we did a Seine river boat tour of the city at sunset. Most of the tour was in French so we didn’t learn as much as we anticipated, but the views made up for it. The tour ended right around 8pm, and at the top of the hour we watched the Eiffel Tower sparkle from the river one last time.

Paris was a dream. I had the best weekend and would do it all over again if I could.

Unité la prochaine fois, Paris.

Gettin’ Lost in Lisbon

Gettin’ Lost in Lisbon

What a weekend. If I told myself a year ago that I would fly off to Portugal for the weekend, I don’t think I would believe it. Lisbon, Portugal was the most beautiful place I have ever seen in my life. Granted, I haven’t seen much of the world quite yet, but Lisbon truly took my breath away.

We were off to an early start Friday after a stressful week of COVID testing and location service documentary. From the bus to the tube to the plane, we headed to Portugal! Landing in Lisbon was unreal. Gorgeous views of the city featuring vibrant buildings and bright blue waters. I could not get a smile off of my face – a surreal experience.

Customs was a breeze, and I received my very first passport stamp! While waiting for our Uber, we ran into a friend from home studying in Barcelona for the semester. How that even happened, I have no idea but the world really is a small place. It was refreshing to see a familiar face from the States.

We stayed in the Lost Inn Lisbon hostel right in central Lisbon, truly the ideal location. It was my first hostel experience, and I would say a positive one as well. A few bumps in the weekend, but nothing too wild – kind of.

Starved and eager to walk around, we wandered to Time Out Market for lunch. The market was filled with food from around the world. I was excited to try seafood because we were on the coast, so sushi was a must. It was delicious, but if you know me, then you know I needed dessert. Luckily for me, there was an over-the-top doughnut shop in the market, Crush Doughnuts. I chose the lamest of options, but the warm and soft inside with the crunchy, sugary outside was unbelievable.

After wandering around admiring the decorated and colorful building tiles, we headed to our wine tasting reservation at Wine Tasting Apéritif. This was SO much fun, I would highly recommend doing this if you find yourself in Lisbon for the weekend. It was recommended to me by my cousin who had done it a few years back. The venue is a small unit with around 14 seats available for reservation. The expert pours three different wines and educates you on where they came from, how you should drink them and what makes them different. At the end, we were given an extra wine sample and three mini bottles as a parting gift. The wine tasting was the perfect way to start the weekend and it gave us some expert insight on what bottles to enjoy on the rest of our trip.

Our hostel offered free sangrias from 8-9pm, so naturally we went from wine to sangrias! What was unique about this part of the trip was the amount of people I met from all around the world. I spoke to people from France, Mexico, Canada, Germany and Brazil. It was amazing to hear about different cultures and solo traveler experiences. After the sangria hour, we headed out on the town with our new friends. Before we could make it to Barrio Alto, we stopped for some pizza because by this time, we had consumed a lot of alcohol and basically no food. Late night pizza is a personality trait of mine, so I destroyed two massive pieces of pizza and have no regrets about doing it. We spent the rest of the night bar hopping, meeting new people and eventually wobbling home through the ridiculously uneven streets of Lisbon.

A key factor that I have failed to include thus far is the fact that our little weekend trip was very last minute so the only reservation we had made prior to coming was the wine tasting the night before. Luckily for us, our hostel promoted a free tour around Lisbon for Saturday morning, so we joined in on a two and a half hour walking tour around the city. We stopped at stunning look-out points, explored the stories behind tiled murals and ate our first Pastéis De Nata while sipping on Ginjinha.

After the tour we walked towards the Praça do Comércio and people watched at the water. Our goal was to eat lunch on or at least near the water, but we knew walking in with a group of six people without a reservation was not ideal. We passed gorgeous waterfront locations and finally approached a two-story, breezy spot. They were able to seat us with no wait, on the balcony accompanied by a gorgeous view of the water. We could not have asked for a better spot. Eager to try green wine, we ordered two bottles to share at the table and spent the next two to three hours sipping, eating and laughing by the water. This was definitely my favorite part of the trip.

On our way to Park, a rooftop bar overlooking the city, we walked through Pink Street to see the famous pink roadway and mini restaurants/bars lined up throughout it. We watched the sunset at Park. The orange and pink toned skies reflecting off the water was a sight I will never forget. That sunset was a dream.

Later in the night we booked a last minute reservation at Le Chat for dinner. The location was gorgeous, right on the water overlooking the Ponte 25 de Abril. Our dinner itself was tasty, but the service was understaffed so we were there for awhile. Sipping on wine for an extra hour or so? Wasn’t the worst thing to happen! We wanted to end our trip with a bang so after dinner we headed over to K Urban Beach Club.

The club venue was incredible; all I could think about was how much my friends back at Mizzou would love it. Indoor/outdoor floor plan, striking décor, multiple bars and a perfect view of the ocean. We met other American students studying abroad in the South of France, danced around for awhile and then headed back home to catch a few hours of sleep before our flight the next morning.

There were a few things I would have loved to do if we had more time in Lisbon that I would recommend you add to your trip. If I had the chance to go back, here are some activities that would be at the top of my list: Sintra, Alfama, Castelo de Sao, a sunset boat ride along the coast &&& eat 1000 more Pastéis De Natas.

Lisbon was the best way to kick off my weekend travels throughout Europe. I had an amazing time and am already feeling eager to go back. The sights I saw were absolutely gorgeous. Views you can’t forget. Until next time, Portugal.

London: Living like a Local

London: Living like a Local

These past two weeks have been my first glimpse of routine here in London. Between classes, my internship and an abnormal amount of grocery shopping, I’m slowly but surely learning my way around this city. I’ve been eager to figure out a routine so that I can feel a little more established and comfortable with my day to day life.

Intern Life

I started my internship two weeks ago and have been loving every minute of it! I was anxious heading to work for my first day, but as soon as I walked in, I was welcomed with open arms and big smiles by coworkers who could not have been more excited to have me. The office space is unmatched. Floor to ceiling windows with a beautiful view of the city, an open floor plan with a collaborative workspace and modern furnishings accented with luscious greenery. The location could not have been more ideal, right in the heart of Shoreditch, a trendy, hipster hotspot with delicious food and lots of shopping.

I am interning for a fashion and consumer lifestyle public relations agency, so I am fortunate enough to be gaining experience in different industry emphases. So far, I’ve been tasked with creating graphics for email subscriptions, client-based media research audits , creating celebrity/influencer gifting lists for various clients, and writing blog posts to introduce new campaigns (fitting right?). I am already learning so much about agency-side PR and am excited for the tasks to come. The work culture here is VERY different. Different in a good way though, I love it. It’s laid back and social, but not in any way you’d expect. Transitioning from work culture here to the work culture back in the states will not be fun.

Student Life

What I love about being a student abroad is that almost every class time is used to explore a new area or attraction. In only two weeks, I’ve visited Borough Market, the British Museum and Greenwich in place of class time. I recently was given an open-ended project on Borough Market where I could take either a journalism or strategic communication route to present on a topic involving the market. I choose to research/present on sustainability at Borough Market. I interviewed traders at the market, and found some amazing stories. It’s incredible to hear people’s back-stories from around the world – a unique experience to say the least.

I’ve found some neat coffee shops/hotel workspaces to study in for a change of scenery. There are tons of WFH spaces throughout London, so I’m hoping to hop around as much as I can to explore different neighborhoods.

London Livin’

Transportation

I wouldn’t go as far to say I’m a pro with public transportation yet, but I’m getting there. For some reason my commute to work is seamless, but I mess up my commute home almost every time. It’s literally the same route but backwards and in the dark, but for some reason I always manage to get turned around. Hopefully I’ll have made progress on my nighttime navigational skills the next time we talk.

UBER BOAT. What a concept. We hopped on a boat from Greenwich to London Bridge and rode past the lit up sky line of the Financial District and breathtaking Tower Bridge. Truly felt like a main character moment.

Foodie

Since being here, I have really channeled my inner foodie. If you know me, then you’d know that I’m not necessarily a “picky” eater, but I’m kind of a picky eater. Confusing, I know. I have tried Indian, Thai and Greek food but have also quite literally eaten everything I’ve laid my eyes on. The food here is AMAZING. I’ve experimented with the traditional fish & chips a few times now, and they’re good, but also kind of like glorified fish sticks with mediocre fries.

I have a new obsession with baguettes. The obsession has the potential to become dangerous, but don’t worry, I’m monitoring it closely.

Brick Lane

This past weekend we spent a day on Brick Lane, vintage shopping and street-vendor tasting. I loved looking through everything. Everyone on Brick Lane was trendy in their own way, it’s truly an outlet for you to express your most candid self.

It’s crazy to me how obsessed with American sports/universities the Brits are. Every shop had vintage college, NFL, Nascar, MLB and MBA garments. There was even a cheerleading section with national champion sweatshirts/jackets that I probably could have pulled out of our storage unit at home.

I loved this day and am excited to go back once the weather warms up.

Cheers to the adventures ahead!

London: My First 10 Days

London: My First 10 Days

I truly don’t even know where to begin or how to put my feelings and emotions into words. These past 10+ days have been some of the most overwhelming yet amazing days of my life. I’ve seen sights I’ve only dreamed of seeing, I’ve met incredible people from so many different places (even a celeb…kind of), and I’ve done quite a bit of growing up in the short amount of time I’ve been gone.

I want to try and document my journey abroad but I am not quite sure of the best way to do that just yet. With so many raw emotions and new experiences in my first 10 days, I’ve decided I’m going to lay everything out day by day.

05/01/2022

Attempting to fall asleep the night of the 4th was next to impossible. Whether it was the fear of the unknown or the anticipation of the day ahead, there was too much racing through my head to feel even the slightest bit tired. I woke up the morning of the 5th with excitement that soon turned to anxious tears that my mom was left to dry up. That feeling didn’t leave until I said goodbye at the airport.

The next hour or two was a blackout of emotions as our flight canceled less than an hour before boarding, leaving us with less than 24 hours of valid negative test results (which were needed to get into the UK). Luckily for us, there was a United flight that began boarding within minutes of cancelation. After sprinting through terminals to make the next flight out, and redoing my UK passenger locator documentation, I was headed to London.

06/01/2022

The excitement and anticipation running through my body as we landed in London was unmatched.

First impression: Walking on the left side of the platform/riding the left escalator to move foreword is the strangest thing I’ve ever done.

Once we made it through customs and were headed to grab our bags to make our PCR testing appointment on time, we discovered that we made it to London, but our bags did not. Once I thought about it, it made sense. How would they have managed to sort our bags and get them to a new terminal in less than an hour… regardless of logistics, it sucked.

We had a driver pick us up from our testing terminal (which was impossible to find). His sign read, “Missouri School.” The drive to our flat was not only my first few views of London, but my first time with a driver on the right side of a car.

The rest of the day was spent setting up SIM cards, registering Oyster cards and taking naps we weren’t supposed to take (A.K.A. quarantine day 1).

07/01/2022

Friday day was tough for me. It was hard to wake up feeling somewhat at home with none of my things. I spent the day trying to think positively but I was frustrated with the airline and the fact that I couldn’t just run to the store for essentials because I was stuck in quarantine (day 2).

Fast foreword almost an entire day, all of my roommates received their negative test result within seconds of each other, besides me. With all of us anxious to head out and explore, I sent them with my credit card to pick some essentials up for me while I stayed back alone. WITHIN MINUTES of them leaving, I got my results! When I tell you I RAN out the door, I mean I RRAANN out that door.

After the store, we went out to our first quick bite at Tortilla Islington. This was the first time since being in London that I began to feel excited about the semester again. I wouldn’t say that I was regretting my decision before, but I was questioning whether or not I was in over my head.

08/01/2022

Our first day exploring London. With plans to meet Brittany’s aunt for lunch in SoHo, I ran to H&M in the morning to buy something to wear (thanks to my luggage still sitting in O’Hare 2 days later). I walked by myself and didn’t need navigation after only passing it one time the night before (a little victory).

We navigated our first use of public transportation to get us to SoHo via the bus/tube. The tube was something! I’m not going to lie, it was a little scary the first time as I didn’t expect it to travel that fast!

We had some time to spare before lunch so we wondered around aimlessly, admiring the street art/hanging lights in SoHo. We ended up running into Liberty, a high-end/vintage department store. The only way I could explain Liberty would be to compare it to a 9 year old boy walking into a candy store for the first time. I was in awe of the fashion and design work that filled each rack. I could have spent days in there. There was an amazing designer vintage section with the most gorgeous, intricately detailed garments I’ve ever seen. I was only window-shopping of course, but maybe one day I’ll head back and buy a little something for myself.

Lunch was in the coolest hidden location, Kingly Court. A courtyard of picnic table seating surrounded by an array of bars & restaurants towering 3 stories above. We ate at Senor Ceviche Peruvian Restaurant, an upbeat, lively atmosphere with small plate style dishes.

After lunch I rushed back to our flat with Grace because our luggage was finally scheduled to arrive! I was the happiest gal when it came. Finally being able to unpack and shower with all of MY things was the best feeling.

We headed to a pub for dinner and closed down the place (it’s not what you think, it closes at 11…). The bartender recommended a nearby sports bar so we walked over with some girls from the previous pub. They were on holiday from Scotland and were hilarious! They loved out “accents” and said they were so soothing. The sweetest girls and my first “hang-out” with some international friends.

This was the night that London began feeling like home.

09/01/2022

Sunday was our South Bank river walking tour. We took 2 tubes to The City of London and exited the station right in front of Big Ben. What a moment. After taking the typical touristy pictures on Westminster Bridge overlooking the London Eye, we walked south towards Tower Bridge. We walked by quaint cafes and food trucks, a local skate park, Tate Modern, London’s 2nd hand book market, Shakespeare Globe, and then ended at Borough Market.

Borough Market is hands down my favorite place I’ve been yet. The food market featured foods from every culture, ranging from cheeses, fruits/veggies, deserts and breads to full, entre style cuisine. We walked through the market admiring the food and people until we stumbled upon Gastronomica, an Italian spot with fresh cannoli’s and unbelievable toasties.

After filling my stomach with cannoli’s, we grabbed a tea to warm us up for the rest of our walk. We headed towards Tower Bridge and spent time adoring the beauty it offers the city.

We stopped in The Liberty Bounds pub for a quick drink to regroup and sat for over an hour talking, laughing and sharing stories from home. Across the street we could see an old church with beautiful architecture, so we decided to stop in. It ended up being the oldest church in The City of London, All Hallows by the Tower.

Once deciding to head back, we ended up getting lost for over an hour, had a run-in with some not so great locals and attracted a homeless man on the tube. Not great!

Later that night we all met up again in our neighborhood for dinner at The York pub. What I began to realize was how different wait staff is in the UK. Its very short and sweet, but I miss the waiter to customer relationship/small talk.

10/01/2022

Monday was the dreaded start of classes. Our professors went easy on us and the workload seems light, but hours of zoom lecture isn’t ideal when there’s a city to explore right outside my window. Classes were only on zoom this first week due to WIFI issues at our institution, so at least I have a new environment to look foreword to next week!

After class we did exactly what every girl needs a little bit of, RETAIL THERAPY. We hopped on a bus to SoHo and shopped our little booties off at Zara. I think I must’ve tried on 9 or 10 things, but don’t worry there was a “SALE SALE SALE”! I ended up leaving with 2 new dresses that I’m excited to debut here in Europe.

11/01/2022

Tuesday we headed back to The City of London and explored Tate Modern. We spent a little over 2 hours soaking up the different styles of art and breathtaking detail behind each piece. The museum was great, but I’ not sure I could’ve spent any longer in it, I can only enjoy museums for so long. I had a bit of a cold this today, which made wearing a mask with a runny rose quite hard.

We left Tate Modern starved and headed to Marylebone for a nice Italian dinner at Alto by San Carlo. We didn’t want to spend too much money and the pricing on the menu seemed fair so it appeared to be the perfect option. The venue was gorgeous, a rooftop restaurant with views of the city and green vineyard décor with white & red accents. The wine selection was endless but because I’m ballin’ on a budget I chose the most affordable option, which did not disappoint. The waiter then shared with us that Alto recommended 3-4 small plates per person, this was when we realized Alto was not as affordable as we anticipated. We justified it with the fact that we were in London and deserve fine dining to celebrate the start of our program. The cuisine was delicious, 10/10 worth every cent.

The restaurant was above the well-known, high-end department store, Selfridges. We spent the next few hours window-shopping designer garments and dreaming of a future where we can afford them. My type of museum.

12/01/2022

Wednesday began with yet another dreaded zoom class. I want to emphasize that its not the professor or the material that I dread, it’s still the fact that I have to do school when there’s a never-ending city out there for me to explore.

After class we headed to Shoreditch for dinner at Dishoom, an Indian street food restaurant. I can confidently say it will be my last time at Dishoom. Nothing against the cuisine, but even the non-spicy food was spicy and I just do not like spicy. Cute venue and entrance way though! A great option for Indian food lovers.

On our way to a pub we walked past the cutest boutique, Glassworks. We went in for a little peak and I was obsessed with so many of their products! Highly recommend!

We went to Crown and Shuttle pub to meet some more friends for drinks and sat in a quaint, colorful patio. I ordered a nice glass of red and talked about upcoming travel plans, what a life!!

13/01/2022

Guess what we spent Thursday doing?? Shopping in SoHo of course. We spent the day going in and out of stores, trying on outfits and spending way more than we needed to! I found my new favorite store, Mango, which contrary to popular belief is WAY better than Zara. I bought myself a new pair of jeans, a color-blocked sweater and a flowy sundress for Italy.

14/01/2022

By this time I’m feeling pretty confident about my navigational skills in the city. I was wrong. On the way to our institution we got messed up and then split up on the tube. With no connection, I chose a stop to hop off at and of course, it was not the correct stop! I then took a bus 10 minutes to then continue to walk/sprint 15 minutes to make my meeting on time. Needless to say, I was late and flustered.

With our institution already being in Kensington, we made reservations for a tour at Kensington Palace. The estate was gorgeous. The tour was interesting but not exactly my speed. I was anticipating a tour guide but it was all, “do it yourself.” The rooms were beautiful, gold finishes, immaculate decorating, and a royal touch at every look. We took a few photos outside the gardens and admired the landscape before leaving.

Not too far away was The Churchill Arms pub. The interior/exterior were both so uniquely amazing. We stayed for a quick drink then headed home for a night I will NEVER forget.

If you are a family member or someone more than just one of my friends, skip this next section… love you though

Let’s backtrack a few days… my roommates and I decided we wanted to go clubbing and were doing some research on the best clubs in London etc. We decided to follow some promoters from exclusive clubs on Instagram and they later DM’d us. We ended up getting on the guest list for Cirque Le Soir, an exotic, burlesque, circus-themed nightclub. We were SO EXCITED & a little nervous of course.

Fast-forward to Friday, we are dressed up to get messed up! We got into the club a little after 11 and spent the next 3 and a half hours in a fever dream. Everything from ball pits to shirtless grandmas to money machines- your imagination can assume the rest. Later in the night, we went to a different bottle service booth next to Louis Tomlinson (as in Louis from 1D). I wouldn’t say we met him, BUTT we basically met him…

It was one of the most interesting venues I’ve ever been to and probably the most interesting one I’ll ever go to. An experience of a lifetime.

RECAP

My first 10 days here were a whirlwind of emotions and experiences that will truly last me a lifetime. I am struggling with missing home on my downtime but I am having the time of my life here in London. There has been a lot of maturing and growing up done in the past 10 days and I’m sure there’s much more to come, but I am so grateful to have the opportunity to study/work here for a semester.

Where I’ve Been

Where I’ve Been

Lonnnggggg time no talk…

Junior year has been BUSY to say the least, BUT… I can honestly say that I have had one of my favorite semesters here so far! I am so excited to share where I’ve been, what I’ve been up to, and what exciting plans I have coming up VERY SOON. So, let’s recap a little bit…

Move In, Work Week & Recruitment

I moved into my first apartment!! My mom and I headed back to COMO to move me into my very own apartment. Let me say, it was quite a bit of work, but I am so happy with how it turned out. It truly feels like home.

Not long after move in… 48 hours to be exact… Work Week began. For the next week, I was in my sorority house 7-10 hours a day prepping for the recruitment week that followed. Although it was incredibly draining, I got to know so many girls in the PC below mine and was able to spend time with friends I hadn’t seen since sophomore year. After a week of preparation, recruitment 2021 began! Here are some pictures…

Gameday’s & Weekends in COMO

Gameday’s are BACK! Weekend’s have been full of Mizzou football, 21st birthdays and LOTS of Domino’s Pizza. Here are some pictures from my weekends in COMO…

We had our first date party back since freshman year! It was just as much fun, if not more fun than I remembered. I can truly say that Diosa holds some of my favorite college memories thus far.

What’s Next?

I have some VERY exciting news to announce. In two short months, I will be moving to London for my spring semester of junior year! Yes, you read that right, I AM STUDYING ABROAD- AHHHH! So what does that mean for the blog? Get ready for Travel Diaries!!

I am beyond excited for this opportunity and cannot wait to share all of the amazing memories I make!

Talk soon XX, Paige

Knitwear You Need

Knitwear You Need

It’s time for a closet refresh ladies! Knitwear is IN!!

I pulled some of my favorite pieces from Verge Girl’s Knitwear Collection to display knitwear inspiration styles and how they’re being paired/accessorized. Knits are truly the perfect mix of trendy and comfort fashion and can be dressed up or styled down.

Some things to remember with knits… be bold, bring in color and watch out for jewelry snags!
