It’s almost time to celebrate your leading lady this Mother’s Day. From luxury beach totes to plush bath towels, this guide has been curated to find a gift for every mom. You don’t need to plan an afternoon tea at The Drake to make your Mom feel loved, though that would be nice. Place your orders and wrap your gifts with an extra bow this Mother’s Day.
On this Mother’s Day I decided to ask my Mom for some of her favorite pieces of advice for me, so that I could share them with you guys! My mom is the strongest, most selfless woman that know and I look up to her tremendously. She is the first person I go to for anything and everything, and I always take her advice to heart. There are not enough words to describe how grateful I am each and everyday to have the relationship that I have with my mom. Here is the advice she had for me…
Advice to my daughter…
Always live by the Golden Rule…”Do unto others as you would want like done onto you”
Stay humble and kind. Remember that just a simple smile or hello can change a persons world or even save their life.
Remember…”You may only be one person but to one person you may be the world.”
Always look for the person in a room that no one is paying attention to or talking to and make a point to give them attention. We are all shy at times or even feel uncomfortable but we know what it’s like when someone takes the time to acknowledge us and make us feel special. Always remember that feeling!
Pray daily and be grateful for all you have. Even when times are tough or stressful remember someone has it harder or has less. God only gives you what you can handle.
Never get too busy in life that you don’t have time for your family- Family is always first.
Make your health your priority and take care of yourself every day. You cannot take care of others if you yourself are not healthy both mentally and physically.
Travel as much as you can and appreciate the world around you.
Remember, it is always no until you ask.
Follow your heart.
Friends are the best therapy so lean on them for both the good times and the bad.
Live life to the fullest every single day.
I am your biggest cheerleader and I will ALWAYS be here for you!!
My Mom’s favorite song to send to me isI Hope You Dance by Lee Ann Womack. Whether I’m lacking confidence or just needing a pick-me-up, this song is a reminder that there is always something more ahead and reaching for it is only bringing me closer. The lyrics are sweet and inspiring, and I encourage you to read and or listen to them now, or whenever you need them. Here they are…
I hope you never lose your sense of wonder You get your fill to eat but always keep that hunger May you never take one single breath for granted God forbid love ever leave you empty handed I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens Promise me that you’ll give faith a fighting chance And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance I hope you dance
I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance Never settle for the path of least resistance Livin’ might mean takin’ chances, but they’re worth takin’ Lovin’ might be a mistake, but it’s worth makin’ Don’t let some Hellbent heart leave you bitter When you come close to sellin’ out, reconsider Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance I hope you dance
I hope you dance I hope you dance
I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens Promise me that you’ll give faith a fighting chance And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance, Dance
I hope you dance I hope you dance I hope you dance
To my Mom on this Mother’s Day, thank you. Thank you for doing life with me, teaching me right from wrong and most importantly, thank you for helping to shape me into the person that I have become today. I don’t know where I’d be without you! Happy Mother’s Day, LOVE YOU MORE!
